When I asked BlueHeart a few things. This is what she had to tell me.!
Creating has always been a part of my life. When I was younger I had a love for making collages out of construction paper and crayons. That developed into a greater love for drawing when I entered high school. My freshman year I was given a tiny sewing machine because of my love for fashion. I didn't appreciate it then, partly because I didn't even know where to begin.
My senior year of high school, everything blossomed. I took a painting class and completely fell in love with oil paints. Upon graduation, my mom advised me to buy something memorable with the money friends and family had given me (in her words "don't go blow it on clothes"). I was actually looking for paint materials in a craft store when I stumbled acrossed a sewing machine that was on sale. It was love at first sight.
I am now a sophomore in college and I have found still no greater love than creating. I am completely self taught in sewing and although I have bought various books in attempt to learn techniques, I get more fulfillment out experimenting myself. While sewing is my favorite method of creating, I still have a love for paper and painting. I really love it all.
Last year sometime, I began reading blogs such as decor8 and Bliss and through those blogs I stumbled across many others as well as Etsy. The more I discovered about Etsy the more I loved it, I loved the deep appreciation for handmade items and all things vintage. It was just my thing. It took me several months to work up the courage to create a shop, and several more before listing items.
Now I am just trying to work on producing a bigger inventory as well as promotion techniques. Unfortunately BlueHeartBoutique sometimes has to be put on the backburner however because I am a full time college student and of course that must come first. I am really excited for all of this to be happening in my life however, and I am so thankful that God has given me the chance to do this and I hope He has even bigger plans for me and this adventure.
I made it my unwritten rule that I must love whatever it is I create before I can list in the shop. If I don't love it, then how can I expect someone else to? I realize that everyone has different styles and preferences but I hope to reach out to those women who love being unique individuals. All of my clothing is handmade by me and each piece is one of kind, which means there is something special about each one.
My favorite piece at the moment is my Wildflower Dress of the bright colors.
I love autumn because of its colors, and so the rich reds and oranges in this fabric really spoke to me. The style is somewhat simple, because I wanted the pattern in the fabric to take center stage in this piece. It is stretchy for comfort, the perfect length to wear with boots, and the long sleeves keep your arms from being chilled in the autumn weather. It will definately be one of my all-time favorites.
Overall, I think BlueHeart is a amazing etsy shop, and very cute!
